Pingtan’s water transmission line fully connected after six years of construction

On April 11, the Pingtan section of the water transmission line was fully connected after six years of construction, part of the "One Gate and Three Lines" project launched to solve the problem of water shortage in the Minjiang River Estuary urban agglomeration and Pingtan, an island off E China’s Fujian province.
The 181.58 km project is Fujian's biggest water conservation project to date, taking up an aggregated investment of about 6.16 billion yuan. It is also the largest water diversion project in Fujian Province since the founding of the PRC.
After the “One Gate and Three Lines” project is fully operational, it will supply approximately 870 million cubic meters of water per year for nearly 5.8 million people along the line.
