Over 200 representatives from the winter sports industry, including leaders from the National Winter Sports Management Center and the China Ice and Snow Conference, gathered in Pingtan International Tourism Island for the Southern Ice Sports Industry Development Forum and the Ice Sports Industry Alliance Promotion Conference on May 27.

"To develop winter sports in China, I believe that the southern region is indispensable," said Zhang Zu'ai, secretary-general of the Fujian Sports Facilities Industry Association.

The forum hopes to promote ice sports by leveraging and blending regional characteristics, tourism, wellness, and culture in southern China. The event also marked the launch of the first National Land Curling City Invitational.

Pingtan's ice rink was invested by the Wanjufu Group. The 3000-square-meter facility not only provides a venue for ice sports enthusiasts to play curling, ice hockey, and ice skating but also hosts ice sports events.

The Wanjufu Group has been committed to promoting ice sports in southern China through various initiatives, including organizing curling competitions and promoting ice sports in schools. The group's liquid-temperature ice technology has also made ice sports accessible in areas without traditional ice-making conditions.

According to Zhang Zu'ai, the development of ice sports in Pingtan will not only provide opportunities for local residents to participate in ice sports but also attract tourists to the region. He believes that Pingtan is an ideal location for hosting sporting events, and the development of ice sports in the area will contribute to the island's diverse tourism offerings.

The forum has highlighted the potential for the development of ice sports in southern China and the importance of collaboration between different stakeholders in promoting the growth of the industry.
