Pingtan Port welcomes first deep-sea trawlers on June 19. Fuyuan Fishery 8897 and Fuyuan Fishery 8899 docked on the international tourism island, chronicling a milestone for the young port and the island's fishing industry.

At the port, the crew members undergo an entry clearance by the local border inspection authorities. The verification and vessel clearance was prompt. With Dragon Boat Festival around the corner, the crew members of Fuyuan Fishery even manage to grab a quick bite of some festive Zongzi (sweet or savory rice dumplings), compliments of the port authority, to celebrate their "timely" arrival.

The two ships left for fishing activities in the Indian Ocean in October 2022. Fuyuan Fishery will undergo maintenance and repair before leaving for its next Indian Ocean fishing expedition in early September. The Pingtan Border Inspection Station also confirmed two more deep-fishing vessels scheduled to dock in Pingtan soon.
