Pingtan to host 15th Cross-Straits Forum & Rural Irrigation Construction Exchange Conference

The 15th Cross-Straits Forum & Rural Irrigation Construction Exchange Conference will be held from June 26 to June 29 in Pingtan, the closest place on the Chinese mainland to the island of Taiwan.

The conference will feature keynote speeches from various irrigation expertsfromacross the Taiwan Straits, who will engage in extensive and in-depth exchanges. During the event, the participants will also visitvariouslocations in Pingtan to assess the island's agricultural irrigation construction, the integration of agriculture between Fujian and Taiwan, cultural and tourism industries, and others.

The Cross-Straits Forum is a grand gathering for people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits. It is also a platform for the people to express their affections and share their aspirations. The Rural Irrigation Construction Exchange Conference has always adhered to the concept of "one family across the Straits." It has established a mechanism for civil exchanges and cooperation, enhanced mutual trust, expanded consensus, strengthened identity, and achieved mutual benefits.

The conference is jointly organized by the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Cross-Straits Committee for the Promotion of Irrigation Science and Technology Exchange, the Agricultural Irrigation Committee of the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society, the Fujian Provincial Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association, the Fujian Provincial Department of Water Resources, and the Administrative Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone Administration Committee.
