Pingtan inaugurates freight route to Manila

Jinjing Port of Pingtan, E China’s Fujian province, launched its inaugural freight route to Manila, the capital of the Philippines, on June 22. The "Mingfa 88" cargo ship transported construction materials, and the Pingtan border checkpoint ensured the ship's departure procedures were efficiently processed. The Pingtan border authorites revealed that they will continue to track the movements of three more ships scheduled to depart from Pingtan. This development highlights Pingtan's commitment to improving its port's business environment and high-quality economic growth.

Data shows that in 2022, Pingtan's total import and export volume was 20.49 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%. The export volume was 11.56 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.1%. The cross-border e-commerce direct purchase export exceeded 8.07 million orders, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%, with a value of about 7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.1%.
