Connecting worlds: Pingtan welcomes international students and media to showcase its cultural splendors
en.ptnet.cn | Updated:2023-07-07 | Lin Kongbo, StephanieUnder the banner of "Connecting World & Witnessing China," Pingtan embarked on a cultural exploration initiative on July 1. The aim was to strengthen international communication by engaging foreign students and media outlets in on-site explorations, capturing unique landscapes, and showcasing the rich local culture and customs of Pingtan.
Foreign students from Morocco, Liberia, Vietnam, and other countries took part in the event, immersing themselves in Pingtan's cultural heritage. They marveled at the intricate craftsmanship of Pingtan Shell Carving at the Pingtan Straits Folk Art Museum, capturing the beauty through their lenses and even trying their hand at creating their own shell carvings. Similarly, the students were drawn to the cross-Straits fusion of cultures found in Pingtan's Taiwan Folk Lampbrella Experience Museum, where they eagerly participated in the painting process.
As part of the three-day event, participants were treated to visits to scenic spots such as the Celestial Well, Beigang Cultural and Creative Village, and Pingtan International Karting Circuit. These excursions allowed them to immerse themselves in the enchanting charm of Pingtan, further deepening their understanding of the island's natural beauty and cultural allure.
Hosted by Pingtan's Tourism, Culture, and Sports Bureau, the program aims to showcase Pingtan's amazing ecological trail and promote its local tourism for the rising international tourism island.
