In the recently concluded 2023 Fujian Province Youth Baseball Championship, Pingtan put up an impressive performance, scoring first in the junior game and outstanding results in the senior game.

The tournament saw the participation of nine junior and five senior player teams from across Fujian Province, with 284 players competing in the event. According to Lin Hua, secretary general of Pingtan Baseball Association, the senior team lost the gold by one point, finishing as runners-up. However, the junior team won all four matches and claimed the championship, making it their second consecutive win. The team's head coach, He Changzheng, was awarded the best coach, while team member Yuan Wenhao was named the best pitcher.

Looking forward, Pingtan is preparing for the upcoming National U15 Baseball Championship in Weihai, Shandong province. With only one week left for the national game, the team is now focusing on physical recovery and basic practice. According to coach He, the team will take part in the national game with a positive outlook and attitude to learn from the best, making the most out of the hard-won opportunity.

The 2023 Fujian Province Youth Baseball Championship is the first provincial-level event that can award technical level titles to young athletes. This milestone has great significance for the development of baseball in Fujian Province, and it is expected to boost the popularity and competitiveness of the sport among young people.
