The 3rd In Moments Film Festival to kick off in Pingtan

The organizing committee of the 3rd In Moments Film Festival announced on August 29th that the festival will be held in Pingtan from September 12th to 14th.

This edition of the film festival received a total of 1,849 submissions from 331 universities worldwide, marking the highest number of entries in the history of the festival. Among the submissions, 88.6% were created by up-and-coming filmmakers from the post-1995 generation. Out of the 50 selected films, 15 are from Taiwan, indicating the increasing participation of filmmakers from Taiwan and reaffirming the festival's commitment to promoting the integration and development of the film industry across the Taiwan Straits.

According to the committee, the renowned Chinese independent filmmaker Wang Xiaoshuai will continue to serve as the chairman of the jury for the main competition section. The jury for this edition will consist of film directors, screenwriters, critics, and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Straits, including Xu Xiaoming, Marco Müller, Huang Xufeng, Zhou Liming, Huang Hongduan, and Zhou Hao.

The festival will also feature a series of masterclasses and screenings. Events such as the Leslie Cheung Film Digital Restoration Exhibition, the Cross-Straits Classic Film Exhibition, the Future Together: Cross-Straits Youth Science Fiction Shorts Exhibition, and the screening of the selected films from the main competition section will take place at the Xihang International Cinema of Pingtan. During these activities, the teams behind the films will be present to share their filming experiences and exchange creative insights with the audience.

Furthermore, on the evening of September 12th, Pingtan will host the "Summer of Film" Island Music Concert, featuring renowned rock band Low Wormwood, Taiwanese folk music pioneer Hu Defu, folk singer Moxi Zishi, and the River Band. The festival's award ceremony, which will unveil the winners of the Qilin Awards and other honors, will take place on the evening of September 14th.

The In Moments Film Festival aims to support and promote the creative talents of young filmmakers from universities around the world and serves as a professional film festival that integrates short film competitions, forums, and screenings.
