Pingtan, a rising international tourism island in China, concluded the 2023 U18 Women's Softball Asian Cup on September 3rd after six days of intense competition among eight participating countries and regions. The closing ceremony, graced by distinguished guests such as Liu Mingzhu, President of the Asian Softball Federation, marked a triumphant finale to this sporting spectacle.

This occasion witnessed a significant milestone as the Asian Softball Federation, in collaboration with the Chinese Softball Association, Fujian Provincial Sports Bureau, and Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, joined forces and signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation. This partnership designated Pingtan as the Asian Softball Competition and Training Base, aiming to foster the growth of softball not only in the region but also throughout China.

President Liu expressed her heartfelt appreciation for Pingtan's exemplary organization and top-notch facilities, acknowledging their instrumental role in hosting flawless matches. The top eight teams in the tournament were Japan, Chinese Taipei, the Chinese National Softball Team, the Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, India, and Hong Kong.
