The air in the evening sizzled with rising rapture as darkness descended on Longwangtou Bathing Beach in Pingtan, a rising international tourism island in China, on the evening of September 12. In the enchanting evening, musicians and filmmakers from across the Taiwan Straits united on the island, calling to celebrate and party in the name of film and music in conjunction with the opening of the 3rd In Moments Film Festival under the banner of “Windy? So what?.”

The concert began with the melodic opening notes by Hu Defu, known as the“Father of Folk Songs in Taiwan.” Strands of platinum frost lightly swayed with the wind as the silver-haired musician strummed nonchalantly to the gentle chants of his vocals. "I grew up by the beach, so the sea breeze of Pingtan felt extremely comforting. Learning how close Pingtan is to Taiwan makes it more familiar," said Hu Defu.

Following that, the Yi ethnic musician, Moxi Zishi, performed songs such as "Don’t Be Afraid," "Cicadas Only Chirp for Three Days," and "Across Mountains," evoking a natural atmosphere that tugged at the hearts of the audience. The folk band, River Band, presented songs like "Autumn Willow" and "You’re Dreaming My Dream," filling the venue with poetic and romantic vibes. During the intermission, the screen displayed a montage of film clips as young directors shared their aspirations and achievements at the film festival. The fusion of film and music created an unforgettable "Pingtan Night" for the audience.

"Film and music are always intertwined. No matter how strong the wind is, we will never change," declared the band Low Wormwood, known as the "Pioneer of Chinese Folk Rock," as they performed songs like "Lanzhou Lanzhou" and "Morning and Evening." The sincere chants and infectious rhythm reached a climax, elevating the atmosphere at the venue. "In this atmosphere, listening to the songs and envisioning the movie scenes, music and film have already connected in my mind," said the spectator Gu Jiawei.
