Pingtan's international cruise terminal clears local inspection

The terminal, which received an investment of 190 million yuan, has been transformed into a state-of-the-art facility capable of accommodating both passenger and cargo ships. With the capacity to handle 150,000 GT cruise ships and 50,000-ton cargo vessels simultaneously, it is poised to become a major hub for international cruise travel and cargo transportation. Its annual passenger throughput capacity is estimated to reach 80,000 people, catering to the growing demand for cruise tourism. Additionally, the terminal boasts a cargo throughput capacity of 1.05 million tons, facilitating efficient trade and logistics operations.
Huang Guoliang, deputy director of the Pingtan Economic Development Bureau and leader of the inspection team, emphasized the next steps, which involve addressing the work list provided by the various inspection departments and implementing corrective measures accordingly. Subsequently, an application for provincial port acceptance will be submitted.
