First batch of ocean-going fishing vessels depart from Pingtan

In the early hours of September 7, four freshly painted fishing vessels embarked on their maiden voyage from Pingtan Island, carrying the hopes of a bountiful catch as they braved the open sea. This momentous occasion marks the first group of offshore fishing vessels to depart from Pingtan port.

The fleet consists of 12 fishing vessels, all poised for a year-long fishing expedition in the international waters of the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. The departure will be carried out in three distinct stages.

In recent years, Pingtan's port authorities have implemented a range of measures to streamline operations for international fishing vessels, cross-border e-commerce shipments, and transit trade. These initiatives include the implementation of online reporting systems, expedited channels for bulk commodities and fresh products, and 24/7 customs clearance services for international vessels. These efforts aim to ensure the smooth and secure entry and exit of vessels at the port while continually enhancing the efficiency of port clearance procedures.
