The highly anticipated "Qilin Cup" National Slow Pitch Softball Championship grand finals commenced on October 14, 2023, in Pingtan, a rising international tourism island in China. With 32 teams hailing from all corners of the country, nearly 600 skilled athletes gathered on the island, vying for the prestigious title of the year's ultimate champions.

Renowned as the nation's most esteemed slow pitch softball event, the competition adopted a rigorous single round-robin format. Two venues, namely the softball field and baseball park, were meticulously arranged to accommodate the group stage matches, which unfolded over a span of two intense days.

The President of the Pingtan Softball Association, Li Bifeng, revealed an exciting addition to this year's tournament. The "Association Match" was introduced under a new category to cater to the teams representing their respective associations from different cities and provinces. This inclusion aims to elevate the overall caliber of the matches, fostering enhanced communication, exchange, and collaboration among participating regions. The aspiration is to cultivate comprehensive interactions encompassing diverse aspects such as the competition itself and youth development programs.

Among the exceptionally skilled teams that advanced to the grand finals were representatives from esteemed institutions including the Jilin Institute of Physical Education, Shandong Sport University, and Nanjing Tech University. Showcasing their prowess in the group stage matches held at 14:00, the defending champions from last year, Jilin Institute of Physical Education, faced off against Chongqing University of Education. The Jilin team demonstrated an impressive display of both offensive and defensive capabilities, combining swift reactions from their players with pinpoint accuracy in passing, ultimately securing a resounding victory with a remarkable scoreline of 14-0.

Reflecting on the intensifying competition, team member Lu Yaqi from Jilin Institute of Physical Education expressed, "This year, the number of participating teams has significantly increased compared to previous editions, and the overall level of competition has reached new heights. While our victory was hard-earned, we closely observed every match played by the competing teams.
