Pingtan, as part of its efforts to promote cross-Straits integration, celebrated the official establishment of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone Lantai Tongxin Social Service Center. This marks the first social service organization with a legal representative from Taiwan in Fujian, in accordance with the "Opinions on Cross-Straits Integration and Development" released in September. The center, led by social worker Lv Yingjing from Taiwan, aims to provide support and services to Taiwan compatriots and enterprises in Pingtan while contributing to grassroots governance and uplifting vulnerable groups. Pingtan is the closest place on the mainland to the island of Taiwan and a designated zone for piloting closer cross-Straits integration.
