Race cars from Taiwan arrive in Pingtan for highly anticipated 2023 Straits Drift Invitational Race

Six race cars from Taiwan arrived in Pingtan, the closest place on the mainland to the island of Taiwan, on November 7, 2023. Pingtan has positioned itself as a vibrant and attractive destination for motorsport enthusiasts.

The customs clearance procedures were completed in a remarkable 4.5 hours. These vehicles are now set to participate in the highly anticipated 2023 Straits Drift Invitational Race in the city.

From November 9 to 12, the race has attracted professional drivers from both sides of the Taiwan Straits. Among the competitors is 26-year-old Qin Xijun, a member of the Taiwan SDC Drift Team, who is eager to make his mainland debut and gain valuable experience in the adrenaline-fueled event.

Huang Wei, general manager of Pingtan Automobile Culture Development Co., Ltd., highlighted the exceptional racing facilities in Pingtan, which provide a unique opportunity for cross-Straits driver exchanges. He expressed his hope for the establishment of bases in Pingtan to host events and racing teams from Taiwan, facilitating a deeper integration of automotive cultures across the Straits. 

The 2023 Straits Drift Invitational Race brings together top drift racers from both sides of the Taiwan Straits, fostering cultural exchange and friendship. This event showcases the passion and allure of motorsport while building bridges and deepening understanding across the Straits.
