Currently, efforts are underway to further refine the museum's exhibition design, highlighting the distinctive marine culture of Pingtan.
The project covers a planned land area of over 6,000 square meters, with a total construction area exceeding 13,000 square meters. The overall architectural design features a large-span wave-like structure, harmonizing with the island's natural scenery. The museum will foster deeper research into the Austronesian family and enhance the prominence of the Shell Mound Site cluster.
"We will expedite the museum’s construction, allowing visitors to appreciate the splendor of cultural heritage and further promote the revitalization of archaeological remains and the construction of intangible cultural heritage carriers. Through inheritance and innovation, we will continue the historical context, narrating the remarkable stories of Pingtan's cultural relics and Fujian's cultural heritage," said Zou Changyong, the project manager.
