The 2023 Fujian Province Youth International Chess Championship was held on December 22 in Pingtan, an island city of E China’s Fujian province with over 700 players from across the province competing in 12 individual categories. After a three-year hiatus, the tournament returned as Pingtan's first time hosting, with hopes to establish the city as a hub for international chess events in the future.
