On the evening of January 4, a musical fusion unfolded at the Pingtan International Performing Arts Center. The Moscow Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra and Pingtan choruses orchestrated a banging concert, serenading the audience to a romantic chapter for the new year.

The Moscow Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, a world-class Russian orchestra, performed timeless classics such as "Alexander Scriabin's Piano Concerto in F Sharp Minor, Op. 20," "March," "El Cumbanchero," "Good News from Beijing to the Border Village," and "Sino-Russian Theme Rhapsody." The performance added joy and festivity to the New Year with a vibrant symphonic feast.

The highlight of the evening was "Song of Pingtan," an impressionistic collaboration by the Moscow Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, the Pingtan Blue Tears Chorus, and the Kylin Chorus from Pingtan Chengdong Primary School. “Song of Pingtan” is a captivating composition celebrating the remarkable growth of Pingtan, from a sleepy fishing village to an international tourism island. The harmonious blend of Chinese and international musicians convened to deliver a powerful and moving performance.

"I am always delighted to encounter talented individuals in the music community. In Pingtan, I have seen many such people. I am very happy to work with them this time, and I wish everyone peace and health," expressed Vsevolod Valeyev, chief conductor of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra.

This event not only marked a musical extravaganza but also a significant attempt at cultural exchange. Wang Zehui, a member of the Pingtan Blue Tears Chorus, shared, "I am very happy to have this precious opportunity for artistic exchange with a foreign orchestra. In the collision of melodies, the Russian conductor led us to 'play' music, and it was very infectious."

After the performance, conductor Vsevolod Valeyev, along with orchestra members, extended New Year greetings to the audience in Chinese. They interacted with chorus members and the audience, creating a lively atmosphere where everyone followed the conductor's beat. In the deep affection and warm ambiance of cultural and artistic exchange, the audience experienced the charm of Pingtan as a joyful island of music.
