Spring Festival boosts island tourism with endless thrills

Pingtan is the second international tourism island behind Hainan in China.
The celebration unfolded with diverse activities like the Guochao (China Chic) Market, lively scenic spots, thrilling events, and dragon-themed festivities, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the tourist island. Residents and visitors immersed themselves in the tourism complex Haitan Ancient Town, explored attractions, soaked in the New Year ambiance, enjoyed cultural traditions, and relished in delightful cuisines, making the Lunar New Year a joyous and festive occasion.
As night descended, the island was illuminated with lights, attracting crowds for market exploration, classical music, and the discovery of the island's history at the night tour themed "Pingtan Story." Capitalizing on the festive season, Pingtan strategically promoted the night economy, elevating the enthusiasm for consumption.
The first night of the Lunar New Year saw the Haitan Ancient Town bustling. Throughout the Spring Festival, the tourism complex introduced national heritage projects, with the traditional folk performance of "Molten Iron Fireworks" becoming a highlight for nighttime spectators. Against the night sky, a "streaming iron" created a spectacular sight, offering a timeless marvel to visitors. The 1,500°C molten iron display resembled fireworks, infusing the atmosphere with festive resplendence.
With favorable weather during the Spring Festival holiday, Pingtan witnessed a surge in the enthusiasm for outings. Various scenic spots on the island experienced a tourism frenzy. At the 68-Nautical-Mile Scenic Area, visitors flocked to witness the island’s breathtaking views with joy evident on every face.
In the vibrant enclave of Pingtan Taiwan-themed Town, visitors were greeted by an exuberant ambiance of fun and excitement. Magic performances and engaging games captivated numerous tourists.
