The second Pingtan Tunnel Machinery Industry Expo, accompanied by the Tunnel Industry Development Forum, recently took place in Pingtan, an island off E China’s Fujian province as well as known as a key player in China’s tunneling sector. Approximately 50 companies nationwide participated in this expo, showcasing a range of innovative equipment for tunnel construction.

Participating companies, including China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd., introduced comprehensive tunnel construction products to meet the growing demand for mechanized construction. Some booths experienced early sell-outs, indicating a favorable response and promising orders for the showcased equipment.

In recent years, Pingtan has transformed its tunnel industry, advocating for a shift from a single tunnel-focused sector to a comprehensive industry encompassing related supporting sectors. The Tunnel Machinery Expo, held for the sixth consecutive year since 2016 and renamed in 2022, has become a prominent event, fostering mutual learning, cooperation, and mutual benefits in the tunnel machinery industry.

Lin Run, director of the Pingtan Economic Development Bureau, emphasized that the expo serves as a platform for equipment exhibitions, forums, and business negotiations. This platform bridges the gap between construction machinery manufacturers and tunnel construction enterprises, fostering a cooperative network for the engineering machinery industry.

In addition to its role as a high-end platform for technological innovation, industry development, and investment cooperation, the expo also highlights the innovative achievements of China's heavy machinery industry. The participating companies aim to capitalize on new opportunities and drive further development through this expo.

The accompanying China Tunnel Culture Forum provided a space for industry experts and scholars to discuss tunnel-related topics, contributing to joint efforts to promote high-quality development in the construction industry.
