"Dream" cruise charts a course for Japan and South Korea from Pingtan

The Tourism and Sports Bureau of Pingtan revealed that next month, Pingtan International Cruise will introduce new routes. The "Dream" cruise will embark on five voyages to Japan and South Korea, marking the commencement of regular operations for Pingtan International Cruise.

The itinerary includes trips ranging from 3 to 6 days starting from March 6 onwards. Scheduled departures include a 3-day, 2-night voyage to Ishigaki on March 6, a 4-day, 3-night journey to Miyako on March 8, a 5-day, 4-night route to Miyako and Ishigaki on March 11, a 4-day, 3-night expedition to Miyako on March 15, and a 6-day, 5-night itinerary to Fukuoka, Jeju, and Tianjin on March 18.

"This collaboration with Pingtan represents the inaugural international cruise line venture for China International Travel Services. The flexible itinerary and diverse destinations provide passengers with a unique cruise experience, including visits to Fukuoka Tower, renowned as Japan's 'seaside best,' and the acclaimed Miyako beaches. Additionally, they can explore the night-time attractions of Jeju Island, including the iconic Lighthouse of Iho Tewoo Beach, and indulge in shopping for distinctive goods at international duty-free shops, ensuring a vibrant and colorful maritime journey," stated Chen Lu, president of China International Travel Services.

The Pingtan Port's Jinjing Port Area 3# berth (International Cruise Terminal), operational since November last year, can accommodate cruise ships of up to 150,000 tons and multi-purpose berths of 50,000 tons, with an annual designed passenger throughput capacity of 80,000. This initiative has ushered in a new era of cruise tourism for Pingtan, a rising international tourist destination in China.

"These five voyages, departing from Pingtan to visit Japan and South Korea, aim to enrich the Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia routes, fostering a conducive tourism market environment. Simultaneously, it will enhance the diverse and high-quality tourism products of Pingtan, injecting fresh vitality into the thriving spring tourism market," explained Chen Jianxiang, deputy director of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone Tourism and Culture Service Center.

Formerly known as "Sea Princess" within the distinguished Carnival Corporation's Princess Cruises, the revamped "Dream" cruise represents a new era of refinement and opulence. With a displacement of 77,500 tons, the cruise ship boasts 1,008 rooms and a standard capacity of 2,016 passengers. It features diverse facilities such as a magnificent theater, bars, open-air pools, entertainment and fitness areas, and a dedicated youth entertainment center.
