The first National Land Curling City Tour is set to take place from March 2nd to 3rd in Pingtan which is a rising international tourism destination in China, as announced by the organizing committee.

The inaugural event features three categories: elementary school, middle school, and adult groups. It spans four regions - Fujian, Jiangsu, Beijing, and Sichuan, with a yearly points system determining the top eight teams in each category eligible for the annual finals. The teams that secure a position in the top eight in both the regional tour and the annual finals will be awarded corresponding cash prizes, trophies, medals, and certificates.

Curling, with a history dating back over 500 years, originated as a sport called "curling stones on ice." Tracing its roots to 14th-century Scotland, it made its way to Canada and the United States in the early 19th century, gradually gaining popularity. By 1998, it officially became a Winter Olympics event. China established its first national curling team in 2003, and in 2009, the women's team clinched the championship at the 24th World University Curling Championship.

Land curling, an integral part of the overall curling sport, follows the rules outlined by the General Administration of Sport of China and the Chinese Curling Association. Athletes throw curling stones towards the center of the house on a smooth track measuring 24 meters in length and 3.8 meters in width. Each team comprises four members, taking turns to throw two stones per end, with each game consisting of four ends. After both teams have thrown 16 stones, the end concludes, and points are awarded based on the proximity of the stones to the center, with the team closest earning points.
