Fondly called“Lao Fei”, Filippo, who has a deep passion for the sea, met Zhou Rong from Pingtan, Fujian Province in 2010. It was love at first sight that they began to fall in love and then get married. At his wife's invitation, Lao Fei came to Pingtan and then lost his heart to the international tourism island. Now he has settled in Pingtan and spends more time with his family after work. When Filippo met his wife Zhou, he got to know about the Pingtan Island.

Recently, China applied a visa-free policy to a number of countries like Italy. When Philip and his wife Zhou Rong heard about this, they were very happy. Philip planned to invite his parents to Pingtan to enjoy the vast azure sea and delicious local snacks.

Sources reported that the visa exemption period is expected to run from 1 December 2023 to 30 November 2024. Citizens from from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia holding ordinary passports can be exempted from visa to enter China and stay for no more than 15 days for business, tourism, family visit and transit purposes.

In addition to bringing his parents to Pingtan, Lao Fei also hopes to invite more Italian friends to come to China and get to know the landscapes and seascapes of Pingtan.

For the first time, China has opened up visa-free entry for Western countries, which not only helps to enhance economic, political and cultural exchanges between countries, but also distinctly conveys China's determination to continuously expand its openness to the outside world. For Lao Fei, who has been living in China, this is also the concern and longing of the two transnational families.

He introduced that last summer his sister's daughter spent a summer holiday in China, learning Chinese while gaining an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture. This year, when the weather cools down a bit, he will have his parents come over to see the beautiful Pingtan.
