The first National Land Curling City Tour concluded on March 3, with Pingtan making a strong impression across multiple categories. Notably, the male team from Pingtan Chengguan Middle School secured the championship in the high school category, while the adult category's female championship went to Pingtan Ao’dong Elementary School's faculty team. Additionally, the first-grade team from Pingtan Ao’dong Elementary School claimed victory in the elementary school category.

In the intense finals, players exchanged curling techniques, applauding good shots and occasionally expressing disappointment over tactical errors. Despite the brief existence of Pingtan Ao’dong Elementary School's six teams, they displayed commendable skills, earning praise from their coach, Wei Zhongwen. He expressed the school's commitment to improving and aiming for better results in future competitions.

Noteworthy was the participation of two teams from Taiwan organized by Zhang Zhaorui, deputy secretary-general of the Curling Committee of Taiwan Universities. Many Taiwan students experienced snow and ice sports for the first time, fostering a connection between mainland and Taiwan youth through this sporting event.

Looking ahead, the National Land Curling City Tour plans to become a regular event, with Pingtan serving as a permanent venue in Fujian province. Zhang Zuai, head of the Southern Base of the Chinese Ice and Snow Games Organizing Committee, emphasized the tour's normalization. It will not only promote curling but also leverage Pingtan's tourism resources, collaborating with travel agencies and hotels. This initiative aims to contribute to the development of Pingtan as an international tourism hub.
