“Dream” comes true: First international cruise sets sail from picturesque Pingtan Island

China's stunning Pingtan Island in Fujian Province sets sail on a new adventure with the maiden voyage of the "Dream" cruise ship on March 6. Carrying over 1,300 passengers, the "Dream" embarked on a breathtaking 3-day, 2-night journey to the captivating Ishigaki Island in Japan. This historic voyage marks the official launch of the first international cruise route departing from the newly-built Pingtan International Cruise Center, opening a gateway to new travel experiences. 

Passengers Experience Seamless Travel and Onboard Luxuries

Excitement filled the air at the Pingtan International Cruise Center on the morning of March 6, as passengers eagerly awaited boarding.

First-timer Chen Shuxin, traveling with her grandmother, expressed delight, "Long journeys can be tough for seniors, but I wanted to share a new travel experience with her. An international cruise seemed like the perfect solution!" She couldn't wait to enjoy their luxurious room with a bathtub and explore the exciting onboard entertainment options like theaters and cinemas.

Lin Yixiao, a tourism professional from Xiamen, joined the voyage with friends, looking forward to indulging in the ship's culinary offerings. "This is my first international cruise, and I'm impressed by how smooth and efficient everything has been," Lin commented, praising the swift customs clearance process. He shared his hope for more international cruise routes from Pingtan, allowing travelers like himself to explore the world in style.

"Dream" Cruise Embarks on Five Voyages

The magnificent "Dream" boasts an impressive 77,499 gross tons, featuring 15 decks and over 1,000 luxurious guest rooms. This inaugural voyage marks the beginning of regular cruise operations from Pingtan, with five planned trips to Japan and South Korea. This development not only establishes Pingtan as a new international cruise destination but also significantly enriches the tourism offerings of Pingtan International Tourism Island.
