Pingtan hosts tourism conference to enhance homestay industry

Ning Jun, President of the Homestay Branch of the Fujian Tourism Association, delivered a presentation titled "Exploring Paths for High-Quality Development of Fujian Homestays," drawing insights from boutique homestays in the province. Emphasizing the significance ofcapitalizing the “blue tear” phenomenon on Pingtan, Ning urged homestay operators to carve out a unique niche in China’s tourism market with individuality and the unique essence of the island.
Homestay operators benefited from valuable insights shared by experts and scholars. Wang Zehui, a homestay operator, expressed gratitude for the advice on service details and standardization.
The conference included activities such as homestay operation training, seminars, and certified training courses, aiming to promote industry standards and facilitate characteristic, standardized, and branded development.
Li Zongbiao stressed the importance of collective effort in shaping tourists' perceptions of Pingtan, emphasizing proactive engagement from the entire industry to build a favorable reputation.
Zhang Jian expressed hopes for unified consensus among homestay operators on development direction and standards to propel Pingtan homestays into a new growth pole.
In recent years, Pingtan's homestay industry has flourished, with 667 registered homestays providing approximately 4,600 guest rooms and 6,900 beds. This growth has led to the establishment of clustered areas and new homestay brands.
Zhu Yingjie disclosed plans to institute a benchmark system and expand the industry chain by promoting innovative products such as "Homestay + Music" and "Homestay + Sports," thus propelling a paradigm shift towards excellent development.
