Strap on for a multi-dimensional adventure in Pingtan this summer.

Revamped Cruise Ship Sets Sail

On April 12th, the luxurious catamaran, Haitan No. 1, set sail in Pingtan, offering tourists a cornucopia of exciting experiences.

Haitan No. 1 boasts three decks dedicated to sightseeing, leisure, and entertainment. Themed cruises like "Chasing the Wind at Sea" and "Capturing the Light at Sea" are new additions this year, catering to diverse interests. Travelers can even customize their experience with educational odysseys, team-building escapades, exchanging vows at sea, and other boundless possibilities.

"We've also introduced 'static cruises' and 'night cruises' featuring delectable meals and live entertainment," shared Yang Xiaozhi, Marketing Manager of Pingtan Maritime Sightseeing Cruise Co., Ltd. "This 'floating lounge' concept will add vibrancy to Pingtan's nightlife."

Eco-Friendly Cars Cruise into Town

To address the surge in tourist traffic and provide a more convenient travel option, Pingtan has added 85 brand new electric vehicles (EVs) to its fleet. These EVs, available for rent or ride-hailing services, include sedans, SUVs, and MPVs, catering to various needs.

"Our commitment to EVs aligns with Pingtan's vision of becoming a 'zero-carbon island,'" remarked Lin Mingdong, Head of Market Management at Pingtan Tourism Passenger Transport Co., Ltd. "These eco-friendly vehicles will reduce pollution and contribute to a healthier environment."

Global First: Driverless Air Taxis Get Green Light

On April 7th, history was made when EHang Intelligent Equipment (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. (EHang) received the world's first production permit for a passenger-carrying autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV). This paves the way for mass production of their EHang EH216-S model and injects a powerful boost into Pingtan's low-altitude tourism ambitions.

The EHang EH216-S is a four-seater AAV designed to redefine sightseeing tours, aerial patrols, and emergency response.

"EHang's cutting-edge technology and operational expertise, coupled with Pingtan's unique policy advantages, create a solid foundation for developing low-altitude tourism here," a representative from Pingtan Investment Promotion Committee commented.

This multi-pronged approach promises a bright future for Pingtan's tourism industry, offering travelers a truly unforgettable and diverse travel experience.
