Pingtan launches new direct shipping route to Taiwan

This marks the inauguration of a new container shipping route between Pingtan and Taiwan, enhancing cross-Straits connectivity.
The "Dong Fang Shun" is a vital link in the direct shipping route that connects Kaohsiung with Pingtan and Mawei. The ship arrived at the port's berth late on May 25th, carrying 62 standard containers filled with frozen and fresh seafood.
"The maiden voyage of the 'Dong Fang Shun' is a significant step in strengthening our logistics network," said a representative from Pingtan Port Development Co., Ltd. Pingtan Port Development Co., Ltd. plans to leverage relevant policies and explore innovative channels for business development.
In recent years, Pingtan has pioneered in establishing full coverage of passenger and freight direct shipping services with ports across Taiwan, from the north to the south. Looking ahead, Pingtan aims to utilize its unique geographical advantages and leading role to further reduce logistics costs, enhance the competitiveness of shipping routes, and foster the integrated development of the logistics industry across the Straits.
