Pingtan, a rising international tourism island in Fujian Province as well as the closest place on the mainland to the island of Taiwan, is gearing up for a nautical extravaganza as the 22nd International Yacht Marina prepares to open its doors on June 8th. This marks a significant step forward in making maritime recreation more accessible to the public. The marina promises to offer a variety of sea-based entertainment options, including yachts, speedboats, wakesurfing boats, hydrofoils, and banana boats.

On the afternoon of June 3rd, the tranquil sea was dotted with luxurious yachts docked at the newly constructed marina. "Our goal is to democratize yachting, making it an affordable luxury for everyone. We envision yachts as the perfect venues for birthday parties, marriage proposals, or corporate events," said Liao Kunteng, Executive Vice President of Taiwan Jiaxin Yacht Group and Board Director of Pingtan Hefeng Yacht Co., Ltd. He added that the latest trends in water sports, such as wave-making boats and hydrofoils, will be readily available to visitors in Pingtan.

Located adjacent to the Ao'qian Passenger Terminal, the marina has a planned capacity of 89 yacht berths and one lifting berth, with 49 yacht berths being the initial phase of construction. Alongside these, a water sports service center, dedicated access routes, and other supporting facilities are being developed.

The marina aims to provide a one-stop-shop experience for boat rentals, customized itineraries, and water sports activities, creating a "marine leisure sports supermarket" that brings yacht tourism to the masses.

On the occasion of the opening, Pingtan will host a yacht dialogue salon among a series of events on June 8th. This gathering will attract yacht industry experts, yacht club members, manufacturers, and tourism professionals from across the country to explore the future trends and prospects of the yachting industry, offering fresh perspectives for the development of yacht tourism in Pingtan.

"Looking ahead, we aim to make yachting a common leisure and entertainment tool for the public. We also plan to establish a 'New Energy Yacht Production Base' in Pingtan, creating a dynamic market for second-hand yachts both on the mainland and globally," Liao Kunteng shared his vision for the future of yachting in Pingtan.
