Pingtan, a key port city in E China's Fujian Province, marked a significant maritime event on June 11th as the Tanzanian-flagged vessels "Rong Chuang 1" and "Rong Chuang 2" docked at the Jinjing Port Area of Pingtan, carrying an array of large-scale construction equipment such as excavators, rollers, and forklifts. This marks the first arrival of contracted large-scale equipment transport vessels at the port this year.
The "Rong Chuang 1" and "Rong Chuang 2," after completing their registration procedures in Lianyungang in October 2023, set sail loaded with this equipment to Thailand to support the "Belt and Road" initiative's overseas contracting construction projects. These projects encompass port construction and channel dredging in Thailand, aiming to invigorate local investment, enhance the tourism environment, and stimulate regional economic development.
After project completion, the vessels are now en route back to China, transporting equipment valued at 26.151 million yuan. Upon arrival in Pingtan, they plan to undergo a re-registration process to revert to Chinese nationality.
To ensure the safe and efficient port entry of the vessels, the Pingtan Immigration and Entry-Exit Frontier Inspection Station implemented round-the-clock video safety patrols to ensure efficient customs clearance.
In recent years, the Pingtan Immigration and Entry-Exit Frontier Inspection Station has ensured the export of large equipment to Pakistan, the operation of international cruise ships, and the entry of racing cars from the Taiwan region. These efforts have contributed to the quality development of Pingtan's export-oriented economy.
