Hailing from Fujian province, she stands as the sole representative from the region and pioneers a new chapter as the first Pingtan-born athlete to vie for Olympic glory.
The national team has earned spots in nine sailing events at the prestigious games. The Olympic sailing and windsurfing competitions are scheduled to take place in Marseille from July 28 to August 8. Chen Jingyue is set to participate in the women's kiteboarding event, a dynamic and visually captivating discipline that blends the thrill of kite flying, windsurfing, and water skiing.
Born in 2000, Chen Jingyue embarked on her kitesurfing journey in 2012. Her dedication and skill have been recognized through multiple awards at both national and international levels. Notably, she made history as the first Chinese competitor to secure an international kitesurfing championship.
Currently, Chen is in the midst of intensive training, gearing up for the Olympics. Following her Olympic preparations, she will compete in the 2024 National Kiteboarding Championship, which will be held in her hometown of Pingtan.
