The six-day 2024 Kiteboard National Championship concluded on July 2, set against the backdrop of Pingtan's sparkling waters. The event saw over 80 athletes from Shandong, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Fujian, Sichuan, Guangxi, and various clubs, competing fiercely in a display of speed and skill.
During the medal race on the final day, competitors showcased impressive control and tactical acumen. Using the wind to their advantage, they skillfully maneuvered their kitesurfing boards, gliding like agile seagulls across the sea breeze. "The levels of competitors were very close, and I managed to improve my speed through this event," said Xiao Meijing from the Shanghai Windsurfing Team.
The Chinese Yachting Association selected Pingtan as the championship venue to help Olympic athletes quickly transition into a state of combat readiness. "This competition was primarily to assess the athletes' training progress and prepare for the upcoming Olympics," explained Gao Chuanwei, head coach of the National Hydrofoil Kitesurfing Team.
With the championship now concluded, the National Hydrofoil Kitesurfing Team will head to Marseille, Paris, to intensify their preparations and strive for national glory.
