In the pinnacle matchups, the junior and U15 divisions featured intense battles. The junior final pitted the Taipei Industrial Vocational High School Baseball Team against the MLB China Development Center Team, while the U15 clash was between the Fuying High School and the Xintai Junior High School, both from Taiwan. Players from both teams demonstrated remarkable competitive spirit and skill.
In a nail-biting contest, the Taipei Industrial Vocational High School Baseball Team, despite facing adversity, rallied from behind with a strong defensive display and fluid offense to secure a 10-5 victory over the MLB China Development Center Team. Post-game, team member Wang Yujun expressed his awe at the mainland's top-notch facilities, stating, "Such venues are rare in Taiwan, typically reserved only for professional matches. This competition has been incredibly enriching. Our opponents were formidable, showcasing exceptional speed and batting prowess – aspects we can learn from."
Beyond the thrilling matches, the tournament served as a bridge for cultural exchange across the Straits. Participants embarked on joint excursions to various scenic spots in Pingtan, fostering deeper understanding and camaraderie.
Ren Zhiyun, executive vice president of the Fujian Provincial Baseball and Softball Association, underscored the event's significance, vowing, "In the future, we will continue to collaborate across the Straits to organize more such events, further strengthening the emotional bonds between our peoples and jointly charting a new chapter in cross-Straits sports exchanges."
