After a hiatus of 21 years, the WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup Group B roared back to life in Pingtan, China on August 15. The event, organized by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), promises to be a showdown of top players from six nations.

"This is a great opportunity for exchange and learning," said Chen Xu, president of the Chinese Softball Association, at a recent press conference. "We are committed to promoting softball in China, offering better training conditions and competition opportunities to our athletes, and nurturing more talented players to shine on the global stage."

This year, over 140 athletes from China, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, Puerto Rico, and Peru convene at the Pingtan Softball Stadium to fight for two tickets to the World Cup Finals in Dallas, USA.

WBSC secretary-general Liu Mingzhu expressed her delight at returning to China, highlighting Pingtan's stunning coastline and impressive infrastructure. "It's a great honor to be here again, and I believe the athletes will have an unforgettable experience in Pingtan," she said.
