The scorching sun failed to deter the fervor of racing enthusiasts in Pingtan, a rising international tourism island as the 2024 China Endurance Championship (CEC), the Toyota GR86 Cup, and the Hong Kong MINI Series came together for an exhilarating second round at the 2024 Pingtan International Racing Carnival. The event, a testament to the island's dedication to motorsports, saw drivers pushing their limits on the challenging street circuit.

In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Yang Xiaowei from Olga Motors By 610 Racing clinched his fourth consecutive victory in the Toyota GR86 Cup's Elite Class (MT Group). Meanwhile, the Excellence Class (AT Group) saw Yang Cheng from the same team take the top spot.

"The team provided excellent conditions for my victory, and I've been lucky. It's been a smooth ride, and I'm thrilled to race on the challenging and fun Pingtan circuit," said Yang Xiaowei, reflecting on his success.

First-time participant Hu Zuoliang, who has extensive experience in regulated races, expressed his admiration for the competition. "I came here to learn and found the event incredibly exciting. The level of competition is high and I still have a gap to bridge. The Pingtan Ruyi Lake International City Circuit offers a thrilling street racing experience," he remarked.

Founded in 2018, the CEC is known for being China's most competitive car race with the highest number of drivers and cars, and the richest variety of groups. The Pingtan event marks the CEC's debut in the region, expanding the race calendar and introducing the picturesque and meticulously designed coastal street circuit to a broader audience.

Among the competitors was the rare female driver, Song Baihua from the Willy MXR Racing Team, who left a lasting impression on the event. "This is my first time racing a GT car. The street race in Pingtan is the most challenging I've participated in, but the track is also very beautiful, offering a great experience," she shared.
