This batch of pomelo arrived in Pingtan via the cross-Straits container ship Taipei Express, generating enthusiastic responses from the market.
In this transaction, three local companies in Pingtan purchased over 60 tons of Taiwan pomelo, totaling 700,000 RMB. Li Hailong, general manager of the Agricultural and Fishery Division at Fujian Zhongtan International Trade Co., Ltd., stated that part of this pomelo will be sold locally in Pingtan, while the remainder will be shipped to fruit markets in Shanghai. Li also revealed that the second batch of pomelo is planned to be sent entirely to Shanghai to meet the growing market demand.
To facilitate swift delivery, multiple authorities within Pingtan collaborated to expedite the process, facilitating the prompt market entry of the pomelo. Lin Cheng, deputy director of the Port Affairs Office at the Economic Development Bureau of Pingtan, indicated that Pingtan aims to establish itself as a primary channel for importing Taiwan's agricultural and fishery products. The zone will actively cultivate the market for these products and consider increasing cross-Straits shipping routes, striving to transform Pingtan into a comprehensive trading platform for agricultural and fishery products from both sides.
