Windsurfing masters converge in Pingtan for the ultimate kiteboarding battle

Pingtan, an island off the coast of E China's Fujian province, hosts the eagerly awaited 11th Pingtan International Kiteboarding Festival, alongside the Pingtan leg of the Chinese Kiteboarding Tour, from October 23 to 27, igniting fierce competition among participants. The grand finale will unfold at Longwangtou, one of the largest bathing beaches in the country as well as a scenic location renowned for its consistent winds and expansive waters, providing an ideal backdrop for kiteboarding enthusiasts.

The Chinese Kiteboarding Tour, organized by the China Yachting Association, stands as one of the premier kiteboarding events in the country, catering to both elite athletes and passionate enthusiasts alike. The tour aims to showcase the exhilarating beauty and skill-intensive nature of kiteboarding, fostering its popularity and development across China's coastal cities. The upcoming festival promises to be a spectacle, featuring three exhilarating disciplines: twin-tip racing, freestyle, and windfoil racing.

Longwangtou, the picturesque backdrop for this year's festivities, boasts a unique combination of favorable conditions that have attracted numerous international kiteboarding and windsurfing events. From the Kiteboarding National Championship 2024 to the Windfoil World Cup Pingtan Station, the beach has become synonymous with high-level competition and unparalleled training opportunities.
