Pingtan makes waves with signing of deep-sea aquaculture project worth approximately RMB 500 million

Concurrently, the Fujian Marine Economic Industry Cooperation and Innovative Development Conference was held, showcasing a significant milestone in marine economic development.

During the signing ceremony, Pingtan, an island off the coast of Fujian, inked a strategic cooperation agreement to construct the Pingtan Deep-Sea Aquaculture Industrial Park Project at the conference.
According to reports, this project is expected to have a total investment of approximately 500 million yuan and a total sea area of about 3,000 mu (approximately 200 hectares). Notably, the first pilot project, the maritime multi-functional platform dubbed "Qilin No.1," is situated in the deep-sea waters off the coast of Pingtan's Tannan Bay. This platform boasts a culture water volume of approximately 62,000 cubic meters and an investment of 150 million yuan. It will be equipped with high-end tourism facilities such as accommodation, dining, and yacht services, adopting an innovative "fishery-tourism integration" business model.
This signing signifies a breakthrough in promoting the high-end, environmentally sustainable, and intelligent development of the marine economy in Pingtan. It marks a significant milestone in advancing the transformation and upgrading of the offshore aquaculture industry in the region.
