24th Cross-Straits Financial Forum held in Pingtan
en.ptnet.cn | Updated:2024-11-26 | Lin Kongbo, StephanieThe 24th Cross-Straits Financial Forum, jointly hosted by the Central Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association (CNDCA) and Taiwan's Shih Hsin University, wrapped up on Nov. 22 in Pingtan, the closest place on the mainland to the island of Taiwan as well as the only comprehensive pilot zone for cross-Straits integration. Attendees included Sun Dongsheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and vice chairman of the CNDCA Central Committee; Cheng Chia-ling, honorary chairman of Shih Hsin University; Huang Jinfa, executive deputy minister of the Fujian Provincial United Front Work Department; and Lai Jun, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, who all delivered speeches at the forum. The forum's opening ceremony and the first session of expert presentations were hosted by Wu Zhiming, a member of the CPPCC National Committee and chairman of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the CNDCA.
The theme of this year's forum was "Cross-Straits Integration Development Amidst Artificial Intelligence and Industrial Upgrading," attracting over 200 participants from relevant fields across the Taiwan Straits, including experts, scholars, and members of the CNDCA's entrepreneurial community.
During the keynote speeches, experts and scholars from both sides of the Straits delved into topics such as "Innovation-Driven Deepening of Cross-Straits Integration and Development Paths," "Economic Development and Technological AI," "New Momentum for Cross-Straits Economic Integration Development Amidst the Century-Long Changes," "Artificial Intelligence, Social Networks, and Corporate Performance," "Intelligent Industry Chain Layout for New Energy Power Batteries to Promote Cross-Straitss Integration," "Correlation Between Artificial Intelligence and Investment Environment for Industrial Upgrading," and "Exploring New Paths for Cross-Straits Integration Development." These discussions shared insightful perspectives and provided new ideas and pathways for cross-Straits integration and development.
