en.ptnet.cn | Updated:2024-11-27 | Lin Kongbo, StephaniePingtan, the second international tourism island in China behind Hainan, has recently announced the commencement of construction for six new yachts. These yachts, comprising three monohull and three catamaran vessels, are a significant addition to Pingtan's burgeoning maritime tourism industry.
The investment for these six yachts, which include one 55-foot catamaran, one 60-foot monohull, and two 45-foot monohull and catamaran models, totals approximately 24.82 million yuan. The yachts are scheduled to be completed and operational by May of next year, adding to the roster of tourism assets at Pingtan's recently opened No. 22 International Yacht Marina.
According to Chen Wei, executive director of the Pingtan Tourism and Passenger Transport Company, these yachts are designed with excellent anti-roll and anti-wave capabilities, robust structural integrity, and easy-to-handle power systems.
With the formal operation of No. 22 International Yacht Marina this year, Pingtan has firmly established its yacht industry. Chen emphasized that this investment is a stepping stone towards expediting the development of additional projects such as the Zhuyu Bay Yacht Marina and yacht construction bases, ultimately contributing to the island's economic growth and international appeal.
