Pingtan, an island off the coast of Fujian province in eastern China, was originally scheduled to hold a "Bench Dragon" Folk Culture Festival Parade on February 12. However, due to weather conditions, the event has been rescheduled to the evening of February 13.

The Bench Dragon Parade is a traditional Pingtan celebration symbolizing good fortune and community unity. It is typically held around the Lantern Festival and aims to preserve and showcase this unique folk culture, allowing more people to appreciate Pingtan's distinctive customs and traditions.

According to Ren Zujiao, a Pingtan official, the festival parade is not only a grand celebration of folk culture but also a significant opportunity to promote Pingtan's tourism. It is expected to attract more visitors to the island, further boosting its development as an international tourism destination.
