Pingtan, southeastern China's Fujian province, has introduced six self-driving sightseeing vehicles, set to operate in popular tourist destinations like Tannan Bay and Longwangtou Bathing Beach. These L4-level autonomous vehicles use advanced sensors, including LiDar and cameras, to navigate safely.

"Visitors can simply select their destination on a touchscreen, and the vehicle will take them there without a driver," said a project representative. Currently undergoing final testing, the vehicles are expected to be fully operational by the May Day holiday.
