Pingtan welcomes its first 10,000-ton heavy cargo carrier
en.ptnet.cn | Updated:2025-03-13 | Lin Kongbo, StephanieOn March 12, the Chinese vessel Xin Cheng Da Yun docked at Pingtan's Jinjing Port, marking a milestone as the first 10,000-ton heavy cargo transport ship to arrive at the port.
Measuring 139.9 meters in length, 36.8 meters in width, and 8.6 meters in depth, Xin Cheng Da Yun originally set sail from Zhoushan Port, Zhejiang, on June 17, 2023. The vessel was tasked with transporting offshore wind power jacket foundations to Saudi Arabia as part of China's contribution to the Belt and Road Initiative. Now, with its mission completed, the ship has returned to domestic waters.
"We provide 24/7 customs clearance and dedicated fast-track channels for essential goods, ensuring smooth entry and exit for international vessels," said an official from the Pingtan Border Inspection Station.
