Pingtan enhances services for Taiwan compatriots with AI-powered smart assistant
en.ptnet.cn | Updated:2025-03-14 | Lin Kongbo, StephaniePingtan, the closest place on the Chinese mainland to the island of Taiwan, has recently taken a major step forward in intelligent governance with the launch of its AI-powered Taiwan Compatriot Smart Assistant, officially integrated into the region's administrative service system. This innovation marks a new era of interactive and precise public service for Taiwan compatriots living in Pingtan.
Song Qianhui, a Taiwan compatriot working in Pingtan, became one of the first to experience the smart assistant. "I've been looking at properties recently and wanted to learn about home loan options available to us," she said. "Through the WeChat official account of Pingtan Administrative Service Center, I could access the assistant, which not only provided detailed loan plans but also outlined the entire application process. It even compared different banks' offerings—everything was crystal clear."
Unlike a standard chatbot, the assistant is deeply integrated into the government system, offering more than just answers. "This is an intelligent platform embedded into our administrative workflow," said Liu Xiaoyang, a big data architect at the Pingtan Administrative Approval Bureau. "Moving forward, we are enhancing its capabilities to not only provide information but also complete approvals, optimize data sharing, and streamline processing times."
Powered by the DeepSeek AI model, the assistant has already achieved a response accuracy rate of over 90%, providing instant access to service guidelines and application procedures. Taiwan compatriots living and doing business in Pingtan can now conveniently obtain detailed, real-time instructions, ensuring they are fully prepared to complete their applications efficiently.
