The 2025 AVC Beach Tour Pingtan Open is set to heat up the sands of Pingtan International Tourism Island from May 8 to 11, bringing together elite athletes from across Asia. The event will take place at the island's dedicated beach sports complex, where final preparations are now well underway.

The tournament will feature both men's and women's divisions, with 42 teams from 12 countries and regions already confirmed.

"This tournament has become a staple in Asian beach volleyball," said Shi Wen, head of Event Operations at Pingtan Straits Sports Industry Development Co., Ltd. "We're thrilled to welcome such a high level of international competition back to Pingtan."

Beyond the court battles, Spain's professional beach cheer squad, known for their flamenco-infused performances, will return to ignite the stands with their signature flair and fiery routines.

"Beach volleyball is more than a sport—it's an atmosphere," Shi added. "We want the audience to feel the energy from the moment they arrive."

Ticket holders can also participate in onsite raffles, adding an extra layer of excitement to the experience. A beach volleyball carnival is also in the works, creating a festive backdrop to the four-day competition.

With its growing reputation in beach sports, Pingtan is ready to welcome athletes and spectators alike to a thrilling celebration of sun, sand, and spike.
