On the afternoon of May 18, the 2025 China National Baseball Championship came to a thrilling close at the Pingtan Baseball Park, as Jiangsu's baseball team triumphed over Shanghai Huaxin with a decisive 9–3 victory to claim their third consecutive national title. Shanghai Huaxin and the Guangdong team took second and third place respectively.

The final saw both teams demonstrate strong tactical discipline. Jiangsu came out swinging, scoring two runs in the second inning thanks to well-executed hits. Shanghai Huaxin answered back in the third and managed to even the score by the fifth inning. However, Jiangsu capitalized on defensive errors by their opponents in the later innings, racking up multiple runs to secure the win.

This marks the first time China's top baseball championship has been held in Pingtan—a coastal island county in Fujian province known as China's second international tourism island and a pilot zone for cross-Straits cooperation. It also marked a rematch of the 2023 final between Jiangsu and Shanghai Huaxin.

"We were very well prepared this time, especially in terms of our batting," said Jiangsu player Luan Chenchen. "Winning the championship and completing a three-peat—everyone is incredibly excited."

During the tournament, Pingtan launched its sports-tourism advertisements, partnering with local attractions to promote the island's scenic coastline. This approach attracted spectators to explore the island's coastal charm beyond the games, while also helping the city gain valuable experience in hosting international events.
