Pingtan, located off the coast of Fujian province and the closest place on the mainland to the island of Taiwan, is China's second international tourism island after Hainan and a comprehensive pilot zone for cross-Straits integration. On the evening of May 20, its normally serene shoreline was transformed into a pulse-pounding arena of speed and skill as the Qilin Star International Auto Stunt Plaza roared to life with a dazzling car stunt show.

Spectators packed the venue to witness some of the nation's top stunt drivers perform high-octane maneuvers just meters from the sea. From dual synchronized drifting and precision 180-degree slides to 360-degree spins and daredevil motorcycle leaps, the performances electrified the crowd and drew cheers of awe and excitement.

The event marked the trial opening of the Qilin Star Auto Cultural Tourism Complex, a new motorsports-themed destination introduced last year to enrich Pingtan's cultural tourism offerings.

Xue Guodong, project director, said the idea was born after visiting Pingtan and recognizing its growing interest in auto-related ventures. "That's when the concept of 'sea-meets-speed' really clicked," he explained. "From planning to launch, we've received tremendous support from local authorities. The welcoming environment made it all possible."

The night's performances were delivered by Huajia Team, one of China's most acclaimed stunt driving groups, known for their technical prowess and synchronized precision. The team's lead performer, Zhaorui Lin, shared his excitement: "This was our first show in Pingtan, and having the ocean right behind the stage pushed us to give it everything we had. We wanted this to be unforgettable."

The Qilin Star Auto Stunt Carnival will continue thrilling audiences through October.
