Star-studded 14th Yao Foundation Hope Primary School Basketball Season set for Pingtan

Pingtan, China's second international tourism island after Hainan, is also the closest mainland location to Taiwan Island and serves as a comprehensive pilot zone for cross-Straits integration and a key hub for international trade and logistics. A total of 55 teams are expected to participate in the event.
The basketball event will feature four main highlights:
Star-Studded Appearances: The event will be headlined by basketball legend Yao Ming, joined by members of the Houston Rockets family, including Houston Rockets' mascot, Clutch the Bear, and former player Cuttino Mobley. Mountaineering hero Xia Boyu will also be present. Chinese Basketball Hall of Fame members will interact with attendees, and there will be surprise appearances by the Fujian Xunxing SBS Basketball Club and the Nanjing Tongxi Monkey King Basketball Club.
"24-Hour Screen Off" Challenge: A dedicated phone storage area will be set up to encourage participants to fully immerse themselves in the game without distractions from their mobile phones. Participants who successfully complete this digital detox challenge will receive exclusive limited-edition rewards.
Girls' Special Training Camp: National women's basketball players will personally coach this camp, offering skill-building sessions and competitive scrimmages to provide female players with an opportunity to excel on the court.
Basketball Skills Assessment: Participants will undergo professional evaluations to track their development and will receive a personalized assessment report.
