Pingtan hosts 2025 drone event
en.ptnet.cn | Updated:2025-09-09 | Lin Kongbo, StephaniePingtan, a coastal area in Fujian Province and the Chinese mainland's closest point to the island of Taiwan, serves as a comprehensive pilot zone for cross-Straits integration and China's second international tourism island after Hainan. On September 5, 2025, this dynamic region became the stage for the "Smart Skies, Dual Engines for Dreams" 2025 Drone Launch & Partner Conference.
KF-150 heavy-lift drone unveiled
The event, blending live demonstrations with real-scene applications, drew partners from across the country to explore advancements in the low-altitude economy. Its centerpiece was the launch of the KF-150 heavy-lift drone by Taxiu (Pingtan) UAV Technology Co., Ltd.—a breakthrough in drone technology with a maximum payload capacity of 150 kilograms, designed for logistics, emergency rescue, and agricultural spraying.
Alongside the drone, the company unveiled the "Heavy-Lift Alliance" platform, a new tool to connect drone operators with project owners. The platform aims to streamline collaboration and unlock more new resources for participants in Pingtan's low-altitude economy sector.
Post-conference demonstrations offered a firsthand look at the KF-150's capabilities. The first demo tested its heavy-lift performance, highlighting its potential for delivering logistics packages and agricultural supplies. The second demo focused on emergency rescue: the KF-150, loaded with life rings, worked in tandem with a T60 drone carrying life jackets to respond quickly to a simulated crisis, accurately dropping rescue supplies at a preset location.
Wu Junfan, CTO of Taxiu (Pingtan) UAV Technology Co., Ltd., commented on the rescue demo, noting its practical value. "The seamless coordination during the drill vividly shows how drones can respond rapidly in emergency scenarios," he said. "It sets a clear example for applying low-altitude technology in rescue work."
Lin Hong, Chairman of the company, emphasized the KF-150's significance for local development. "The launch of the KF-150 in Pingtan not only provides solid technical support for low-altitude transportation but also uses advanced technology to empower industry upgrading," he stated.
The Taxiu Drone R&D Base, where the event took place, is a key investment project introduced by Pingtan. The base functions as an integrated platform for drone research, pilot training, exhibition, and office operations.
