The China Endurance Championship (CEC) 2025 in Pingtan wrapped up on Sept. 14, following two days of intense competition. The event drew top-tier racing talent from across the country for a series of high-octane battles.

The second race day saw the excitement reach a fever pitch. In the sixth round, drivers skillfully navigated their cars between the circuit's barriers, pushing the limits for 90 minutes of thrilling overtakes and fend offs that perfectly showcased the unique appeal of endurance racing.
A standout performance came from the GT Cup, where drivers Dong Junbo and Yang Shuo of LEVEL Motorsports dominated the GT4 class. Despite facing pressure from GT3 cars at one point, their strategic use of a safety car period and precise pit stops allowed them to not only hold their lead in the GT4 class but also overtake several GT3 competitors. In a stunning upset, they clinched the overall championship, a rare achievement that saw a GT4 car triumph over more powerful GT3 rivals.

"Normally, we have a seven-second gap with the fastest cars, so it's extremely difficult to win," Yang Shuo said in a post-race interview. "But the magic of endurance racing is that miracles always happen. We fully capitalized on the safety car opportunity and our driver-swap strategy, and we were fortunate to win the championship."

The Pingtan race featured three main categories: the GT Cup, the National Cup, and the CEC x GIC Pingtan Challenge, along with the Hong Kong MINI Series. As a pivotal event for the championship, the results from this race are poised to majorly reshape the final rankings for the overall season championship. Beyond the track, the race not only demonstrated the high level of competition and growing prowess in China's automotive sports scene but also injected new energy and gave a significant boost to Pingtan's sports tourism industry through its successful "racing + cultural tourism" model.
